A Feast for All People: Trinity Methodist Church Opens Its Doors to the World
As summer slips away and the world drifts into a gentle hibernation beneath wet, grey skies many people retreat indoors, seeking warmth and solitude. Yet, while the world quiets down, Trinity Methodist Church is opening up — welcoming everyone through simple, universal joys: food, music, and dance.
Under the theme “A Feast for All People: Where Every Plate Tells a Story,” Trinity Methodist Church hosted a special service that brought together over 60 people from Watford and beyond, uniting people of all races. The event celebrated diversity, community, and the shared belief that everyone has a place at God’s table.
To join the celebration, all you needed was yourself — just as you are. Because that’s how God sees each of us.
The service began with joyful, multicultural singing — from English hymns to Shona and Nigerian songs, Ghanaian rhythms, and even the soft hum of a violin.
Though some songs were sung in unfamiliar languages, the joy and movement united everyone, evoking an atmosphere of worship that crosses borders. It echoes Saint Augustine’s saying;
“To sing is to pray twice.”
The music was proof that worship transcends language and that the Spirit can be felt in rhythm, dance, and harmony.
The Word and the Feast
The readings — from Isaiah 25:6–9, Luke 14:15–24, and Revelation 7:9–10 — reflected God’s invitation to a feast for all people. The message was simple yet powerful: God’s love knows no borders and everyone is welcome.
Trinity Methodist Church aims to live this truth daily — by being a church that is open, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone from all walks of life.
Serving the Community
The vision behind the service went beyond the celebration.
“This is a way to open our doors and understand community needs around us and proactively play our part. This initiative reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to serve not only in worship but through tangible acts of compassion.”
The celebration ended around a shared table — a feast featuring British, Indian, Caribbean, and Asian dishes, lovingly prepared by church members. Even passersby joined in, drawn by the aroma of food and the warmth of fellowship.
“Today the church witnessed a truly successful Feast for All People service — one of its kind! The Spirit was surely on the move among us. The oneness and team spirit were so evident, and the beauty of our diversity shone through.
It stirred in me the thought that perhaps God is inviting us to consider how we embrace difference as diversity and celebrate it — and to continue our mission for all, the rich, the vulnerable and marginalized, the homeless and those suffering from chronic loneliness. Let’s keep this in prayer and discern together where God may be leading us.” Reverend Joyce Mayisiri
This special service marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of shared faith, fellowship, and unity at Trinity Methodist Church.

Who Is Your Neighbour
🌿 Who Is Your Neighbour? 🌿
What a beautiful and spirit-filled service we shared at Trinity Methodist Church in support of children receiving care at the Paediatric Unit of Watford General Hospital.
Together, through worship, prayer, music, and generosity, we raised £1,300 to help make the children’s ward brighter, more welcoming, and filled with warmth — a place where every child can heal in comfort and hope. 💛
As Emily Theobald from West Herts Hospitals Charity shared:
“It’s a privilege to stand among people whose hearts overflow with compassion. Together, we’re making the children’s ward brighter and more welcoming — a place where every child can heal in warmth and hope.”
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who prayed, gave, and joined hands in this act of love — including our friends from the NHS and the Muslim Chaplaincy.
Let’s continue to live out Christ’s call to “love your neighbour” — in faith, in service, and in unity. 🙏
